The Computational Memory Lab at the University of Pennsylvania seeks to hire a Research Project Manager to help lead a multi-center study of brain stimulation aimed at improving human memory and understanding its neural basis.

Our research, funded by multiple federal grants under The BRAIN Initiative, uses intracranial brain recordings in neurosurgical patients to uncover the neural mechanisms of human memory and to develop algorithms that use electrical stimulation to restore memory function in patients with brain injury or neurological disease.  Prior published work from our team has demonstrated meaningful improvements in memory using machine-learning-based closed loop brain stimulation.  These projects are funded by multiple grants and involve multi-site collaborations across the U.S. and in Germany. We seek an experienced candidate who can effectively direct large research projects, has the ability to interface effectively with neurosurgeons, neurologists and engineers, and has the technical skills to work with sophisticated data acquisition and brain stimulation systems.  The selected applicant will directly oversee a team of research specialists and coordinate the data collection and analysis efforts of researchers at multiple sites. Additional duties will include ensuring the longevity of the work by helping to prepare grant applications and reports, and contributing to the selection of future research agendas. The position is contingent upon funding.
