The Computational Memory Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow to collaborate with Professor Michael Kahana's team on the electrophysiology of human memory, as studied both through passive recordings and direct brain stimulation. The successful applicant will become part of a multi-center effort to study learning and memory in neurosurgical patients who have implanted electrodes for seizure mapping.  The postdoctoral  candidate who joins our team will have opportunities to collaborate with scientists and physicians at Columbia University, Emory University, UCLA, University of Texas Southwestern, Freiburg University and several other research centers.  As part of this project, we are developing a novel brain stimulation therapy for patients with memory disorders.

Research facilities include a high-speed computing cluster and state of the art brain recording systems at each of our clinical sites. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong quantitative background (e.g., multivariate methods such as machine learning, dimensionality reduction, and pattern similarity analysis).  Preference will be given to candidates who can begin before July 1, 2023.
