The Computational Memory Lab is currently seeking applications for the following positions:

Postdoctoral Research Fellow

The Computational Memory Laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow to collaborate with Professor Michael Kahana's team on the electrophysiology of human memory, as studied both through passive recordings and direct brain stimulation. The successful applicant will become part of a multi-center effort to study learning and memory in neurosurgical patients who have implanted electrodes for seizure mapping. As part of this project, we are developing a novel brain stimulation therapy for patients with memory disorders, which involves collaboration with six different clinical sites and research centers.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong quantitative background (e.g., multivariate methods such as machine learning, dimensionality reduction, and pattern similarity analysis). Applicants should send their CV, publications, and a list of references to Professor Kahana at

Digital Media Design (Undergraduate Work-study Position)

The Computational Memory Lab is looking to recruit a DMD student for the 2019 Fall semester to help design UNITY-based memory experiments to interface with closed-loop brain stimulation algorithms. Additionally, we are looking for a student who can assist with designing stunning graphical illustrations of scientific findings for inclusion in our lab's research publications. To apply for the position, please send a CV and transcript to Professor Kahana at using the subject line: "3-D Design”.
